Hertford County is announcing a vacancy in Housekeeping.
Housekeeper – Under regular supervision, performs responsible unskilled work in the care and cleaning of County buildings and property. This position requires general knowledge of building cleaning practices, building supplies, and the ability to use cleaning equipment to include sweeping, vacuuming, moping, washing windows, removing trash, cleaning all bathroom fixtures and dispensers, dusts and does related work as required.
This position requires the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds of force constantly. Work also requires stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling and repetitive motions as well as having good visual acuity, and the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
The worker may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment and may be required to be immunized against bloodborne conditions.
The educational requirement is any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and a minimum of one (1) year experience in building cleaning.
Successful candidate must have a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
Starting Salary: $18,536
