VACANCY – Facilities Manager – CLOSED

Hertford County is seeking to fill the following full-time position in governmental operations
Essential Functions/Typical Tasks:
Hertford County is seeking a Facilities Manager to plan, organize, and oversee repairs, maintenance, and general operations for County-owned facilities, and/or operated buildings and grounds.  Performs complex, skilled, and intermediate administrative work, involving maintenance and housekeeping staff and includes supervision over all departmental staff.  Tasks are performed under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities and Public Works.
Planning, coordinating, supervising the cleaning, maintenance, repair and operation of County buildings and public grounds; preparing and monitoring the County’s annual public buildings budget; establish a preventative maintenance plan, maintaining records and files, and preparing reports.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and a minimum of three years, building structure and design experience.  Also three years ground maintenance experience and some supervisory experience.
Physical Requirements:
This is very heavy work requiring the exertion of up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for depth perception, color perception, peripheral vision, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, use of measuring devices, operation of machines, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions; worker is subject to outside and inside environmental conditions, extreme cold and hot, noise, vibration, and hazards.
Minimum Annual Salary:
$46, 840.00
