The Hertford County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information in the following crimes. You do not have to give your name when submitting information. Call the CrimeStoppers line at 252-358-7841 with any information you may have pertaining to these investigations.
Homicide: On September 21, 2016 at 2:12 am, deputies responded to 186 Pinetops Circle Murfreesboro located in Woodridge mobile home park and discovered two deceased males, victims of apparent gunshot wounds.
Shooting into a residence: On March 23, 2017 at 9:00 pm, deputies responded to the residence of 105 Pleasant Plains Road Ahoskie in reference to a drive-by shooting of a residence. Once on scene, the deputies discovered numerous bullet holes in the residence.
Shooting into a residence: On March 24, 2017 at 9:08 pm, deputies responded to the residence of 346 NC 42 West Ahoskie in reference to a drive-by shooting of a residence. Once on scene, deputies discovered several bullet holes in the residence. A late model red Dodge Charger was seen speeding away from the area at the time of the shooting.
Recovery of stolen vehicles: On April 5, 2017, deputies recovered 2 separate vehicles that had been stolen from Southampton County, Va. Vehicle 1 was a 2004 extended cab white Chevrolet truck which was recovered from a pond on Mill Neck Rd. in Como. Vehicle 2 was a 2008 Ford truck, red in color and was found in the edge of the woods off of Mapleton Road in Murfreesboro.
Shooting into a residence: On April 27, 2017, deputies responded to 148 W. Modlin Road Ahoskie in reference to a drive-by shooting of a residence. Upon arrival deputies discovered numerous shotgun blasts to the front of the residence.
Larceny of Firearms: On May 27, 2017 at 2:12pm,deputies responded to 141 Vaughantown Road Murfreesboro, NC in reference to larceny of firearms. Upon arrival, deputies found that the firearms had been stolen four months prior. The firearms stolen were a black Remington .22 caliber rifle, a Columbian single shot shotgun, a Marlin semi-automatic rifle, a Citation 12-gauge shotgun, and a Savage Stevens .410 over/under shotgun.
Breaking-Entering-Larceny: On May 29, 2017 at 4:49pm, deputies responded to 505 Liverman Mill Road Ahoskie, NC. Upon arrival, deputies found that the door of the residence had been pried open and several items had been stolen from the residence. These items included two televisions, a PlayStation 3, and a piggy bank.
Breaking-Entering-Larceny: On June 09, 2017 at 2:40pm deputies responded to 116 Freeland Court Winton, NC in reference to a breaking and entering and larceny. Upon arrival, deputies found that someone had entered the apartment and had stolen a white General Electric stove. The apartment had been vacant for two months and was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
Larceny of riding mower: On 07/04/2017, at approximately 6:00 pm, deputies responded to 103 Hall Siding Rd. Ahoskie in reference to a stolen John Deere riding mower. The mower is a x570, green and yellow in color with an approximate value of $2,500.
Breaking-Entering-Larceny: On 07/07/2017, at approximately 12:30 am, deputies responded to 113 Chet Rogerson Rd. Ahoskie in regards to a break-in. It appeared entry to the residence was gained by prying open the back door. Stolen from the residence was; 1 LG 55-inch TV, 1LG 50-inch TV, 1 Sanyo 32-inch TV, and 1 42-inch TV, brand name unknown, all with an approximate total value of $1,600.
Larceny of utility trailer – On 07/12/2017, Hertford County employee’s discovered that a large 2016 Carolina utility trailer, black in color, VIN # 5UNUS1822GR000747, license plate # TF14824, had been stolen from Industrial Park Road Winton, NC.
Breaking-Entering-Larceny – On 07/18/2017, deputies responded to 102 Lance Road Murfreesboro in reference to a residential break-in. Entry was gained by prying open the front door. Stolen from the home were a 46” Samsung flat screen TV and a jewelry box containing miscellaneous items of jewelry.
