The NC Fast Program is designed to improve the way NC DHHS and the 100 county departments of social services conduct business.  NC FAST introduces new technological tools and business processes that will enable staff to spend less time performing administrative tasks and more time assisting families.

In an effort to expedite interim functionality to North Carolina’s 100 county departments of social services staff and to ensure project success by staged implementation of functional modules, NC Fast requires the services of an individual in the role of NC FAST On-site Specialist  for Hertford County.  Following training in Raleigh, employee will work in the county department of social services with the potential to be regionally based and commute daily to provide support for county department of social services agency personnel as they transition to a new technology based case management system.  Occasional travel may be required. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES / COMPETENCIES:  Must demonstrate excellent oral communication skills and be comfortable interacting with the local agency staff at all levels.  Must demonstrate very good analysis and problem solving skills.  Must be flexible to accommodate changes in assignments.  Prefer knowledge of current processes and procedures related to administering economic benefit programs at the county level.  Prefer direct experience working in a county department of social services program.  Experience in coaching/mentoring others or experience in working with complex software.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from high school and four years of progressively responsible experience in clerical or administrative work, or as a practitioner in a specialty area; must have at least two years of experience as a technical assistant in staff development and training; or graduation from a four-year college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
